This Tuesday
Prashant Billore
will lead our discussion on:
Acceptance Off the Cushion - let’s die first so that we can be fully alive
"I began my meditation journey in 1995. I have been hearing about acceptance, equanimity and serenity all through this time. Can’t say that I understood them all this while. Some recent events in my life brought this to test and gave me new insights. I am interested to share some perspectives on that and kick off a discussion on this topic.

What has challenged you lately? What did you learn about your relationship with acceptance?

U Tejaniya once said that we should meditate like a sick person who does not have energy to fight what they observe! He was talking about acceptance. How about we take this a step further and die first (not literally) so that we can be alive again.

Look forward to a lively discussion!"

Easing Awake offers a monthly meditation
group in addition to our weekly
Tuesday Sangha Meetings.
  • This group meets on the first Friday of each month from 4:30 PM to 6 PM PST. The next meeting is 03 February 2023. The group is open to joining late and leaving early as required.
  • We invite each participant to share their thoughts on their practice and life in a stream of consciousness fashion.
    • No formal structure is required. People often talk about their work, health, relationships, and whatever else is most on their mind.
    • In many cases, they would talk about benefits and/or challenges related to their meditation practice as well as new insights or resources.
  • The rest of the group silently acknowledges. They may offer support and validation and may share related personal experiences of their own.
    • Advising, preaching and patronizing often leads to shutting people down and we keep ourselves aware to avoid that.
    • Some people may look for specific advice or would like to use the group as a sounding board.
  • Sharing is not compulsory and one can opt out of it.
  • The resulting experience of the listener as well as the person sharing is one of relief and finding love and support.
